I wisely decided to email the hotel directly instead of booking through a third party site and got a fantastic deal which included half-board and a rental car. I communicated with Kostas and he's got the patience of saint as I bombarded him with questions. Everything was as described and better. I was travelling with my eight year old son and wife and they loved it too. We were unexpectedly upgraded to a family grand suite with the pool right in front. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would love to come back some day. Thanks Kostas! This really was a good base for our group to see the sights of the island, which included the sunset at Oia and the warm volcanic pool area and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the island and our time at the hotel.

Found this hotel quite by chance and I'm glad we did. It was a fantastic find. As soon as we walked into reception we felt welcome and looked after. Kostas, the owner, informed us he has upgraded us to the Windmill room which was such a pleasant surprise! We loved every minute of our week in Santorini and having Mathios Village Hotel as our base made it even better. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms serviced well and ALL the staff so friendly and welcoming. We will be back!

Great stay at Mathios Village. Personal approche by the hotel howner, how has one thing in mind make your stay in the hotel a success. The place feels that you stay in your private home and pool. You can have breakfast in the morning and lunch and dinner at the pool in a nice and calm atmosphere .Room service is great and handled with a touch for datails. Very friendly staff and always willing to help. In one word fantastic!!

This family run hotel was recommended to us by friends and was an excellent one. Kostas the owner and his staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Mama's cooking is excellent, plenty of variety available at breakfast and we ate at their taverna every evening because the food and service was so good. We had a room facing the pool which was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. The grounds of the hotel and the pool area were kept immaculately clean and tidy. Overall, we had a great relaxing holiday at this hotel and would recommend it.

Absolutely fell in love with the island and this hotel is very well situated to enjoy it. Costas (hotel mgr & owner) seems to know everything you need to know and gets you reservations, car rentals, boat trips etc. He cares about your holiday and whether you are enjoying it. The staff are all very welcoming and caring. Wifi signal wasn't always strong but I was pleased as the boys were sitting with us every night chatting and playing cards. The bar is intimate and reasonably priced. Thank you Hotel Mathios for a truly memorable & wonderful stay, we will be back but I'm trying your lovely new villas next!!!

We have stayed at this amazing hotel for the 4th year and as yet again had the most wonderful holiday!! Mathios Village is a family owned and run hotel and to us is the best hotel on Santorini. Kostas and his team go the extra mile to make sure your holiday is very memorable, and they make every guest a VIP guest!! The hotel is immaculately clean and very well looked after every day. The food is amazing, with a wonderful choice cooked freshly with delicious ingredients by the wonderful Tanya. You are looked after at your tables by Vasile and Vitale who cannot do enough for you, very special people. Kostas is very happy to arrange tours, boat trips and car hire but not only that , he gives so much information that will help you decide on just what you want to do on your holiday - from lots to very little and chilling by the pool is one of our favorite things. " my little bit of heaven on earth" so peaceful xx.

We arrived Santorini in the middle of the night, but had talked to the owner, Costas, about airport-pick up that he arranged for 40 EUR. We arrived the hotel and got a good night sleep, although arriving 4.30 in the morning. The Hotel really exceeded our expectations. We, my sister and I, stayed here for 5 and half nights, and we felt right at home here. Costas showed us how to get the most out of our stay. We rented a car that was delivered and handled right at the hotel, and that was the place were we left the car as well. We had a room by the pool-area, and that is really recommended. The receptionist is also very nice, friendly and helpful. The staff in general are very nice and polite. We would think of this as a 4-star hotel. The breakfast could be a little upgraded, and the beds are a little hard, but all in all, we would come back to this exact hotel.

Gorgeous boutique hotel in Santorini! The service was exceptional-very attentive, very personal and everyone wearing a smile. Anything we needed or wanted, the staff was more than willing to help. The food was spectacular at the restaurant. I can't stress that enough and the cocktails were amazing too!! Our room was quiet, clean, cozy and overlooked beautiful fields out to the ocean. The balcony boasted gorgeous flowers, lime and pomegranate trees. The pool and courtyard were so relaxing...The location is fantastic. You can easily walk to nearby restaurants, markets, etc. and everything is very close by. All in all, I will be coming back very soon and this is the only place I'd stay. Simply put, it's a magical place!!!!

What can i say; it was my 3rd time at this wonderful place and i will come back ever and ever! There is something magical @ this place, Kostas and his family, also his crew, do their best to make you feel like in paradise (allthough Santorini is even paradise). When you are there you feel welcome from the first minute on and also you feel like a part of the "Mathios Family"! To the hotel: it is a very beautiful village in typical Santorinistyle; the rooms are very comfortable and, what is very important, they are hold very clean. You also find there a wonderful pool in the center with an poolbar/taverna, where you can also have your breakfast, lunch or dinner. The kitchen of Tanja is a MUST!!!! Traditional Greek meals served, no international buffet; that's really different!!!! At the end of my review i can only say: my family and i love Mathios Village and we will go there again!!!!!

Lester This was our second time staying at Hotel Mathios Village and we can't wait to go back again. This hotel has the best staff. They are always ready to attend to any need and answer any questions and give suggestions on what to do and where to go on the island. The food at the hotel restaurant is fantastic and authentic. It's in a quite area so you can rest and not be up all night like many places in the center where the cars, scooters, ATV's, and people make a ton of noise (we've all stayed in the center before and never again). The front desk connects you with great prices for boating or rentals. Hands down the best spot to stay on the island. Thank you so much for the great stay.
